About us
Lakhimpur polytechnic is a technical institution offering 3 years diploma under the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, established by the Government of Assam in 2017. It is officially approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to State Council for Technical Education, Kahilipara, Guwahati, Assam. The Institute offers diploma level courses in three branches of engineering- Chemical, Civil and Mechanical with intake capacity of 60 (sixty) in each branch totaling to 180 (one hundred eighty).
The institute is situated at a rural place named as Gosaibari near the
Kherajkhat H. S. School under the revenue circle of Narayanpur in the
western part of Lakhimpur District of Assam covering an area of 30 Bighas
( 10.67 acres ) covered by dag No.205 (kha) and 419 (kha) of village
Barigaon under Kherajkhat Mouza within Bihpuria Legislative Assembly
Constituency. The Institute is about 8.5 KM from Narayanpur Town, about
10 Km from Bihpuria Town and about 47 KM from North Lakhimpur Town.
The exact location of the institute is 1.5 KM away from the Borpathar
Tiniali point on the National Highway 52 connecting Narayanpur Town
to North Lakhimpur Town through Banderdewa. The nearest Railway Station
is Tatibahar, which is about 5 km from the Institute and the Lilabari
airport is about 60 km from the Institute. The greater areas surrounding
the Institute have numbers of ancient Temples, Sattras, Pukhuris, and
other monuments of great historical importance and the most importantly,
this area is the birth place of two great Baishnava Gurus Madhabdev
and Haridev.
